Blake is having surgery today for the separated shoulder he suffered in January. It's taken a very long time to get fixed. Too long, actually, but today it's all going to be repaired. He hurt his shoulder while playing in the snow in Kentucky. What Texas boy wouldn't be out in the snow if he had the chance? I think, however, that the excitement of snow has run its course for him, as some of his last comments were "Oh, no, it's snowing again. AAARRRGGHHH!"
His family is just waiting now to hear from him that the operation is over and he's out of the hospital. He expected to be out by 2:00 this afternoon as this whole thing was going to be outpatient care. He will start his physical therapy on Monday, but I don't think he knows too much more than that at this point. The Army, it seems, is not so free with it's information.
Here's a picture of the x-ray that was taken when he went in to the emergency room in January.

They have to take a tendon from somewhere else in his body and reattach the separated part of his shoulder. Then they say that he has to be careful as this could pop loose any time from now on. We'll just be glad to see it fixed for him. He's been in quite a bit of pain for the past month.
Thanks all. More info when we have it.
